Long Weekend Recount

Sunday: On Sunday I woke up at about 7:00 o’clock really excited for my first basketball training for this season. But I wasn’t prepared for what I had to do, actually I didn’t know what in the world was going to happen. I had random suggestions in my head of what we were going to go such as: will we do it the same as last season, will it be different, will we finally be split up in our teams?

Well when we got there since my mum was part of the basketball club committee she said something about a personal trainer, well later I found out the it was for a fitness test which I had to do since I was in the team 2’s!

We started off doing  ball handling skills (before the fitness test) such as: crossing over, crossing over with two basketballs, through the legs without dribbling and that was pretty much it.

Then we went to the fitness test, (yay!) first off they made us do as many as we could do push ups in a minute I sadly got 27 because I get tired, then we did the plank (it’s a painful thing don’t try it) I surprised myself by getting 7 minutes not only beating everyone even beating the coaches, after that we did a vertical jumps to test ourselves and see how high we can jump, lastly for the fitness test we did suicides two sets full court I did it in 1 minute 19.

Now we went out and joined the others doing passing and matches. I personally thought I went really well.

Finally we split up into teams and worked on our weaknesses.

Once training finished my dad started shooting the basketball, I went for the rebound then the ball hit my pointer finger and not only bruised it, it even made it swell up.

And of course it was my writing finger!

Tuesday: On Tuesday I woke up at about 8 o’clock  going into the rumpus room at around 9 I was wanting to play my PlayStation but mum said clearly Jamison we’re going to have a game free day.

Even though Cup Day is a big thing I completely forgot about it.

At One o’clock we had lunch I had noodles after that I had three zooper doopers! (icy poles) then I went outside and played basketball (basically having random shots and hitting them!)

Then I went to fountain gate to get stuff for my pop’s wedding (he has been married before) then we went home and finally it was dinner time my mum had a basketball meeting at our house it finished at nine thirty, and I went to bed at eight thirty.

Now today I woke up at seven o’clock and went to school at seven fifty.

Corn and Basil Cakes by Jamison

Corn and Basil Cakes

1/2 cup white whole-wheat flour or all-purpose flour

1/2 cup low-fat milk

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons canola oil, divided

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

2 cups fresh corn kernels or frozen, about 2 large ears

1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instuctions!

1.Whisk flour, milk, eggs, 1 tablespoon oil, baking powder, salt and pepper in a medium bowl until smooth. Stir in corn and basil.

2.Brush a large nonstick skillet lightly with some of the remaining 1 tablespoon oil; heat over medium heat until hot (but not smoking). Cook 4 cakes at a time, using about 1/4 cup batter for each, making them about 3 inches wide. Cook until the edges are dry, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, 1 to 3 minutes more. Repeat with the remaining oil and batter, making 10 cakes total. Reduce the heat as necessary to prevent burning.

Camp Waratah Bay!

!Camp Waratah Bay!

On Monday the 2nd of September 2013, grades 3M, 4R and 4Y went to camp at Waratah Bay for an extremely fun camp at the BEACH!

It took 2 hours to get there. Once we got there we put our bags outside and went into the Rec room to sit down and get introduced. Once that finished we collected  our bags and the girls went to the far side of the camp too set up their beds but we got the close side to set our beds up then it was lunch time, then before I knew it… it was dinner time, we had Wombat but it was actually Roast Lamb!

For dessert we had Ice-Cream and Apple Crumble.

For supper we had cake for Zack C’s birthday.

On Tuesday we had our activities which were Nitro Crossing, Initiatives, Giant Swing, Bouldering Wall, Photo Trail, Volleyball, Beach Activities and Possum Ropes and that covered Tuesday except for the Night Hike and “The Movie” which was Alvin and the Chipmunks.

On Wednesday we said “goodbye” to the camp and went home.

Karl Benz the inventor of the Automobile

Jamison’s inventor show from Berwick Lodge on Vimeo.

This term throughout L.E.E.P. We learnt about an invention that we wanted to in a pair.

Kyle and I teamed up to learn and make a movie about Karl Benz a famous inventor.

We found out his date of birth which was November 25, 1844 in Muhlburg, Germany.

I think that I could make the movie quicker (the green screening and grabbing the movie to put it all together) but I can’t complain it’s pretty good!

Making the movie taught us lots of things like how to export songs from GarageBand to iMovie and put together into a movie, How to export a finished movie, Green screening, Blogging videos, How to collect and save information to google drive on Explain Everything and How to copy Videos from blogs.

My goal for my next movie is to remember the line and take our time!

District Cross Country

On Monday 20th May, 2013 it was Cross Country, Daniel, Luke, Zack, Brodie M, Liam, Xander, Blake, Lochie, Bailey S and Jamison were all the 3/4 team that went on the day and Daniel and Luke got to Zone! (next stage!)

It was a fantastic day for all of us Zack came 34th and I came 50th.

Around about 3/4′s into the race you had to go around two trees but people cut through the trees.

The approximate length of the course was 2.2 kms. It was a tiring track. At the start of the track people fell over!

All and all it was a great day!
