Bridge Construction – Kyle

Aim: To build a model of a sturdy bridge.

Materials:

  • Lego
  • Pencil
  • A book
  • Eraser

Method :

  1. Using a pencil, draw a sketch of the bridge. Rub out any errors with your eraser.
  2. Using the Lego, build three bases on three pieces of land.
  3. Find some pieces of Lego to join together and act as a road.
  4. Build the road on the three bases.
  5. Build the barriers of the roads so the cars don’t fall off the bridge.
  6. Now, construct the stairs/ramp using Lego so the cars and the people can get access to the bridge.
  7. Add water to decorate the bridge.

Bridge Construction!

Aim: Working in groups, build a bridge using different construction materials.

Materials: Pencils, Eraser, Straws, Scissors and Masking Tape

Procedure:

  1.     Draw your bridge design into your Inquiry book.
  2.   Build four platforms.
  3.     Make five arches.
  4.     Join two straws together. Repeat four times.
  5.     Cut straws into quarters and tape seven together.
  6.      Then join them all together.

BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION – Georgie

Aim: Working in groups, build a bridge using straws.

Materials:

  • Straws
  • Scissors
  • Masking Tape
  • Pencil
  • Inquiry Book
  • Eraser

Procedure:

  1. Draw a bridge design into your Inquiry Learning Book.
  2. Start to gather your materials.
  3. Start making the base poles. You will need 4 poles with 25 each.
  4. Cut two poles into 1 third and 2 thirds.
  5. Make 5 roads with 9 straws each.
  6. Stick all the roads together.
  7. Stick the poles underneath the road.
  8. NOW YOU ARE DONE!!!

Bridge Construction – Summah

AIM: Working  in groups, build a bridge using different construction materials.

 Materials:

  • Lego
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Pen

Procedure:

Step 1: Draw your bridge into your Inquiry Learning Book.
Step 2: Get all the bits of Lego you need to build your bridge.
Step 3: Start by grabbing your bottom pieces and connect them try and make the bottom smooth.
Step 4: build your bridge the way you drew your bridge in your book.

Bridge Construction – Jake

AIM: To make a bridge out of the chosen material

MATERIALS:

  • Straws
  • Tape
  • Scissors

PROCEDURE:

  1. Build your bridge out of straws.
  2. Make arches and put them on top of the bridge.
  3. Make support sticks and make them under the bridge to hold it up.
  4. Make some ramps and stick them on to the ends
  5. Now make a car for decoration  [optional]

Aim: working in a group, use straws to build a bridge construction.

Materials:

  • Straws
  • Scissors
  • Masking tape
  • Inquiry book
  • Pencils
  • Eraser

Procedure

  1. Draw your design into your inquiry book.
  2. Start to gather all your materials.
  3. Start making the base polls with 25 straws in each. You will need to make 4 polls.
  4. Cut 2 poles into one third and two thirds.
  5. Make the 5 roads with 9 straws in each road.
  6. Stick all the roads together in a single line.
  7. When that’s done stick the poles underneath the roads.
  8. Now you are done.

Bridge Construction

Bridge Construction Task.

Aim:
Working in groups, build a bridge using different construction materials.

Materials:
Newspaper
scissors and
masking tape.

Procedure:
Step 1- Make a base and use the tape to tape it together.
Step 2- Roll up five bits of newspaper and tape it all up.
Step 3- Tape up two rolls to the base and tape them together.
Step 4- Put a road on top of the two rolls.
Step 5- Stick one roll on each of the two rolls.
